Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound imaging studies in accordance with physician orders and departmental guidelines.
- Prepares and transports patients as necessary.
- Prepares imaging equipment, room, and images, as needed for interpretation.
- Verifies and completes studies in RIS and PACS.
- Maintains Quality Control on Equipment as Instructed.
- Performs such exams as abdominal echoes, renal, aorta, thyroid, pelvic, obstetrical, bio physical profiles, vascular studies, testicular and breasts.
- Color flow studies, doppler studies, renal biopsies and fluid collections of localized areas.
- Checks all images with the radiologist; consults with the radiologist about the reading of scans and reports.
- Provides written, unofficial reports of examinations.
- Takes representative anatomical pictures, recognizes normal versus abnormal anatomy, and exhibits knowledge of various pathological processes.
- Marks images for proper definition and explanation.
- Available for on call status, as needed.
Qualifications
- Education (experience can be substituted for education): Associate's Degree in Sonography from approved program OR Associate Degree in Radiology from approved program, minimumally Required.
- Work Experience (education can be substituted for experience): Up To 1 Year Preferred.
