About the role

The sonographer performs ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider. They provide information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure, respond to patient questions and concerns, and deliver quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment.

The diagnostic medical sonographer maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, including continuing education, acquisition of specialty-specific credentials, and recredentialing. The role involves performing diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography within the Radiology department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of a 2-year AMA-approved Ultrasound program (Required)
• Relevant experience in sonography (Required)
• Basic Life Support certification (Required)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer license (Required)
