Cardiac Sonographer I - Full-Time

About the role

The role involves performing diagnostic cardiac procedures, primarily echocardiography, to assess heart structures and hemodynamics in accordance with standards of practice. It emphasizes critical thinking, decisive judgment, and minimal supervision, offering opportunities for professional development and a collaborative work environment focused on improving patient care and supporting staff growth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct echocardiography exams, selecting appropriate transducers, analyzing image quality, and reporting results.
• Review patient histories, educate patients about procedures, and ensure cooperation.
• Prepare and administer contrast media or medications as ordered, monitor patient status, and select imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards, perform quality control on equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
• Certification as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
