Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

About the role

Provides respiratory care utilizing critical thinking skills as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). An RRT assesses patients, develops, implements, and evaluates care plans, administers medications, and offers health education to patients and families. Acts as a clinical resource, collaborates with healthcare team members, and provides clinical leadership to enhance patient outcomes. Supports continuous learning and completes assigned goals to improve healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications

• Provide clinical leadership and support ongoing learning
• Complete assigned objectives

Qualifications & Skills

• Recent clinical respiratory care experience (hospital, home care, skilled nursing)
• Associates in Applied Sciences – Respiratory Therapy (minimum)
• Successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office)
• Licensure as an RRT, Mississippi Respiratory Care Practitioner license, BLS certification within 14 days
• Preferred: 1 year hospital experience, ACLS certification
