Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to:
- Arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
- Aerosolized medications administration
- Non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation management
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory therapies, equipment use, and disease management
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety
- Stay current with the latest evidence-based practices and participate in continuing education opportunities
Requirements
- Associate's Degree and graduate of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialing through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience in adult critical care
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Bachelor’s Degree
Physical Requirements
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range
- May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
- Minimum hourly: $36.75
- Maximum hourly: $48.55
