Registered Respiratory Therapist Pediatric Transport

Location: Pensacola, FL | Facility: Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart | Department: Pediatric Transport | Schedule: Rotating Shift | PRN

About the role

Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiency during air or surface transport by:

• Identifying, assessing, administering medication to, and stabilizing the patient during transport.
• Evaluating respiratory practice, administration of medications and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition.
• Inspecting and maintaining equipment and supplies to ensure safety of the transport team and patients.
• May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• 3 years minimum of ED or ICU experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) obtained prior to hire date.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification (American Academy of Pediatrics) obtained within 3 months of hire date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) obtained within 1 month of hire date.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (Florida Board of Respiratory Care) obtained prior to hire date.
