About the role

The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, airway procedures, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. They deliver personalized patient education, collaborate with healthcare teams, and mentor new staff and students. The role emphasizes ensuring quality, safety, and evidence-based practice in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, therapy planning, and execute treatments such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
• Manage ventilators, interpret waveforms, and oversee invasive and non‑invasive procedures.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and students, fostering a supportive environment.
• Ensure safety and quality through accurate documentation, medication safety, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.
• Promote adherence to policies, standards, and evidence‑based practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Licenses and certifications: NBRC‑RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS required upon hire.
• 0‑2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
