Registered Respiratory Therapist - Full Time Nights

About the role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides essential therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care to patients of all ages, including procedures such as ABG analysis, PFTs, ventilator management, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance. They perform respiratory assessments, interpret diagnostic data like CXRs and ABGs, and operate cardiopulmonary equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and bronchial hygiene.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and electrocardiograms.
• Evaluate patients through physical assessments and review medical records to develop treatment plans.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function and infection control.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, utilize critical thinking, and ensure patient satisfaction through effective communication.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP and PALS within one year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and registered by the NBRC.
• Minimum of 6 months of respiratory care experience.
• Proficient in respiratory procedures, equipment operation, and patient assessment.
