Registered Respiratory Therapist - Full Time - Nights

About the role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including ABG analysis, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Conducts respiratory therapies such as oxygen administration, aerosol treatments, airway maintenance, and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares treatment evaluations through physical assessment, patient interviews, and review of medical records.
• Interprets patient data like CXR, ABG, and PFT results.
• Operates, checks, and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and safety.
• Participates in infection control, safety, and quality assurance tasks.
• Maintains all equipment and work areas, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
• Utilizes effective communication to enhance patient satisfaction and performs other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification; NRP and PALS within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing and registered with the NBRC.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.
• Proficiency with respiratory assessment, treatment, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic data and perform critical thinking in patient care.
