Registered Respiratory Therapist – Emergency Department

About the role

Caregivers in this role will have the opportunity to provide patient care in additional areas across Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, including Cardiac, Digestive Disease, Medical-Surgical and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Maintain and monitor patients' conditions.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
• Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross

Qualifications

• Prior experience in an ICU or Emergency Department setting
• Bachelor’s degree
• Neonatal/pediatric experience preferred when appropriate for site
• Prior experience performing invasive procedures preferred when appropriate for site

Skills

• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range
• Sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time

Pay

• Minimum hourly: $36.75
• Maximum hourly: $48.55
