About the role

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Overland Park Regional Medical Center, you can be a part of an organization that is devoted to giving back. Overland Park Regional Medical Center, a 340+ bed facility, offers acute medical services to its patients. It is the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center, and it has an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician
  • Medical gas administration
  • Aerosol therapy
  • Obtaining and analyzing blood specimens
  • Providing mechanical ventilation
  • Maintaining artificial airways
  • Assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Providing patient education
  • Maintaining safety and infection control practices

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required
  • Current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care
  • NBRC RRT
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS preferred upon hire
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 6 months of hire
  • One year of recent clinical experience preferred
