About the role
Assess and Plan: Evaluate the patient's respiratory status using clinical signs and diagnostic data to build a tailored, diagnosis-specific care plan. Deploy and Monitor: Implement respiratory therapies and advanced equipment (like ventilators), continuously tracking device settings and patient vitals while documenting changes. Execute Advanced Care: Administer specialized modalities, including complex mechanical ventilation, targeted aerosol medications, and airway clearance techniques. Evaluate Outcomes: Regularly review treatment effectiveness and patient progress, adjusting medications and care plans to ensure optimal recovery. Educate and Respond: Train patients and families on long-term health management while remaining ready for immediate, hands-on airway intervention during emergency codes.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
