About the role

Join our Respiratory Therapy Team! Patient Care Locations include MetroHealth Main Campus Medical Center – Glick Center, MetroHealth Physical Rehab Institute, Parma Medical Center, Cleveland Heights Medical Center. Primary Skills Utilized/learned include invasive and non-invasive ventilation management, evidence-based patient driven protocol pathways, critical thinking, and time management. Personnel RRT will work with various healthcare professionals such as RNs, LPNs, PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Dieticians.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ventilator settings and monitor patient respiratory status
  • Provide patient education and support
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Perform airway management and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
  • Possess and maintain an active RRT credential by the NBRC
  • Active RCP license from the Ohio Medical Board
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification
  • Reliable transportation to travel to other MetroHealth facilities as needed

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience as a RRT in a critical care environment preferred
  • Extensive experience with mechanical ventilation, airway management, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
  • Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the AHA preferred

  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems
