About the role
We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. This role includes the opportunity to provide care in Cleveland Clinic Main Campus’ new Neurological Institute. In addition, caregivers in this role will have the opportunity to provide patient care in additional areas across Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, including Cardiac, Digestive Disease, Medical-Surgical and more.
Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine.
Responsibilities
- Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
- Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Maintain documentation.
- Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.
- Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients, and process billing.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing.
- Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.
Physical Requirements
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Schedule
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 2:00 p.m. -- 10:30 p.m.
Pay
The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range for this role is $29.00 to $44.50 per hour. This range does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
