Part-time position (2-3 days per week) at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA.

Schedule

  • 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments.
  • Apply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection.
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound, ostomy, and hyperbaric treatment.
  • Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques, prevention strategies, proper ostomy care, and management of continence issues.
  • Regularly track the progress of wound healing, modify care plans as needed, ensure follow-up care, and provide emotional support to patients managing chronic wounds or ostomies.
  • Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital and educate staff on proper wound care protocols and internal policies.
  • Stay up to date on the latest wound care techniques, products, and research; participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Interact with community resources to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide hyperbaric therapy to appropriate patients (RN training for hyperbaric therapy is provided).

Requirements

  • Current and valid state-issued Registered Nurse license.
  • BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained thereafter.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Previous wound care knowledge and/or experience preferred (1 year).
  • Wound Care Certification required within the first year of hire.
  • Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Certification preferred.
