Job Summary

The Wound Care Registered Nurse serves as a member of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) consulting team, providing expert assessment, treatment recommendations, and specialized care for patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based wound management and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, and continence-related conditions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care treatment plans.
  • Provide expert consultation and recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform advanced wound care procedures, including dressing selection and application, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), and pressure injury prevention.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on wound prevention, ostomy care, continence management, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor wound healing progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Cerner EMR.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care and adherence to best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Wound Care RN experience
  • Current AHA BLS Certification
  • Current CWOCN (Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse) Certification
  • Experience with Cerner EMR
  • No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
