Job Summary

Beloit Health System is adding to its Beloit Memorial Hospital Float Pool with an opening for a Registered Nurse Weekender.

  • Hrs per week: 48 hours per 2 week pay period

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery from a variety of medical or surgical conditions.
  • Administer intermittent and continuous IV medications and monitor condition changes to optimize patient recovery and accurately document in the EMR.
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise and provide care for clients throughout their life span within the framework of the well/illness continuum.
  • Affordably assesses basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
  • Effectively plan patient care and consistently implement the patient's plan of care.
  • Accurately evaluate patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
  • Provide patient/family education appropriately.
  • Strictly adhere to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.
  • Actively participate in Quality Improvement program.
  • Perform unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.
  • Complete documentation according to policy.
  • Effectively set goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.
  • Ensure patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protect patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable
  • State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date)
  • Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire, ACLS & ASLS within 1 year of hire
  • Telemetry experience is helpful
  • Must be flexible to work across multiple units
  • Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination
  • Requires physical effort that includes full range of body motion which includes standing, walking for extensive periods of time. Also assists with lifting patients up to 25 pounds weight, pushing transport carts ranging in weight of 50-200 pounds
  • Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
  • Requires seeing and hearing at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Requires working in sometimes stressful conditions or irregular hours
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids

The Clinical Manager and/or Department Director.
