Registered Nurse - Vascular Access

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities/duties related to the oversight of vascular access activities.
• Actively involved in the assessment/evaluation of vascular access needs and requests.
• Clinically proficient with safe, effective vascular access and initiation.
• Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
• Clinically proficient with safe, effective post insertion maintenance.
• Serves as professional resource for BHC acute care entities.
• Manages administrative aspects of Vascular Access Team to ensure high level functioning of overall program.
• Affirms and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
• Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.
• Pursues professional growth and development.
• Affords assistance in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• Licensed BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
• Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC)
