REGISTERED NURSE: University Hospital 4A-1 Adult Medical Surgical Unit

About the Role

4A-1 is a 32-bed adult Medical-Surgical unit in the University Hospital. This fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding unit provides care primarily for adult medical-surgical patients and is suitable for both new graduate nurses and experienced nurses.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients on a 32-bed unit.

Requirements

• Current Michigan RN license (GN applicants will be considered). The selected Graduate Nurse candidate must pass the NCLEX and obtain a Michigan RN license prior to the start date.
• Resume required for both internal and external applicants.

Qualifications

Required

• Must meet all required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Desired

• BSN preferred.
• One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous Medical-Surgical RN experience.

Pay

• Hourly range for Registered Nurses: $41.78–$64.81 per hour.
• Shift differentials:
  • Evening Shift: +$3.00/hour
  • Night Shift: +$4.00/hour
  • Day Shift Weekend: +$2.90/hour
  • Evening Shift Weekend: +$5.90/hour
  • Night Shift Weekend: +$6.90/hour
  • Charge Nurse: +$1.00/hour
• Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire (levels range from A to E).

Schedule

• Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Shift: Night shift; 12-hour shifts, every other weekend.
• Location: University Hospital, 4A-1 Adult Medical-Surgical Unit.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Michigan and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union.
