Registered Nurse - The Retreat
About the role
The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt consists of a 22‑bed residential program nationally renowned for expert care. It is designed for patients seeking a comprehensive evaluation and intensive treatment experience in a psychotherapeutic milieu, unencumbered by third‑party payment policies to give residents a chance to make meaningful progress toward recovery. The Retreat offers an elegantly appointed setting in a specially renovated space on Sheppard Pratt's main campus in Towson (Baltimore County). Residents stay for an intermediate length of several weeks to several months. The Retreat embodies a multi‑disciplinary treatment approach to a variety of psychiatric conditions that can be treated safely and effectively in a voluntary, unlocked environment, including mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and/or co‑occurring disorders such as substance‑use disorders. Individualized treatment includes psychopharmacological interventions, intensive individual psychotherapy and family therapy, and group therapy (DBT, psychodynamics, recreation therapy, art therapy, Eastern movement and meditative practices, and other evidence‑based group therapies), plus a co‑occurring program as indicated. At Sheppard Pratt we are more than just a workplace; we are a community of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing hope and healing to individuals facing life’s challenges, and we invite you to join a mission that changes lives.
