Registered Nurse Surgical Unit

Wyoming Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse for its Surgical Unit, a comprehensive 25-bed floor with three bariatric patient rooms, an orthopedic rehabilitation gym, and therapeutic tub training area designed to centralize treatments and shorten recovery times. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week as part of a fast-paced surgical team. In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. You will assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. You will formulate individualized plans of care utilizing assessment data and input from patients, families, and the health care team. You will implement care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. You will evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising the plan as needed. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation reflecting objective and subjective data, nursing interventions, and patient responses to treatment. You will provide evidence-based care, participate in unit shared leadership, and contribute to the education and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors. You will interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external health care contacts to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care. A $20,000 hire-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.
