Registered Nurse Surgical Unit

About the Role

Wyoming Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 25-bed Surgical Unit. The unit features three bariatric patient rooms, an orthopedic rehabilitation gym, and a therapeutic tub training area designed to centralize treatments and shorten recovery times. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week as part of a fast-paced surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards.
• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate individualized plans of care utilizing assessment data and input from patients, families, and the health care team.
• Implement care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising the plan as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation reflecting objective and subjective data, nursing interventions, and patient responses to treatment.
• Provide evidence-based care and participate in unit shared leadership.
• Contribute to the education and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors.
• Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external health care contacts to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
