Job Description
Registered Nurse Working Supervisor Rate: $60/ hour includes shift differentials
Available Shifts: 7am-7pm Every Saturday and Sunday = 24 hr/ weekly
The RN Nurse Supervisor plans, controls and executes the nursing services required by the residents. Supervises the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements, to ensure that the residents receive the highest quality of care at all times.
Together with the Nursing Director, the RN Registered Nurse Supervisor plans the operation of nursing services and the provision of emergency support requirements for tour of duty. Plans the coordination of nursing activities in line with medical needs, physician instructions and the general nursing care plan.
Captures the activities of charge nurses to ensure proper care of residents. In conjunction with medical staff, adjusts the care plan to meet emergency medical needs. In the absence of superiors, the RN Registered Nurse Supervisor assumes total responsibility for operating decisions required by the circumstances of the moment.
Takes responsibility for management of emergency situations as the need develops. Ensures presence of appropriate relief staff to assume responsibility prior to leaving the facility. Ensures notification of resident’s personal physician if there is a significant change in the condition of the resident or if the resident requires immediate medical care.
Qualifications
- Holds a current state RN license and is a Registered Nurse in good standing.
- Has previous experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Displays attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.
- Preferred long term care experience.
- Knowledgeable of general rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care.
