The Weekend Warrior Registered Nurse (RN) position at MediLodge of Frankenmuth offers a rewarding career in long-term care. This role involves planning, coordinating, and providing comprehensive nursing care to residents while supervising and guiding clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and leads team conferences in developing individualized nursing care plans.
  • Affirms and documents the resident's condition and nursing needs accurately and promptly.
  • Assigns nursing care to team members based on the resident's needs and their capabilities.
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.
  • Administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments for assigned residents, documenting as required by company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
  • Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state-specific Nursing Practice Act.
  • Ensures supplies are used efficiently and equipment is clean and maintained safely.
  • Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
  • Collaborates with other departments to coordinate nursing care for residents undergoing therapy or procedures.
  • Interviews applicants and recommends hires.
  • Engages in counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations of staff, as permitted by state practice act.
  • Schedules and directs the nursing staff as permitted by state practice act.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
  • Valid RN license in the state employed.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
