Position Overview
At Indiana University Health Beltway Surgery Center, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled RN Clinical Specialty Coordinator to lead our GI Procedural Surgery service line. This critical position focuses on delivering high-quality care to our GI patient population, which sees approximately 40 cases per day.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of care for high-acuity patients across the service line, utilizing advanced clinical knowledge and assessment skills.
- Serve as the clinical expert and strong leader within the unit, actively participating in management and system leadership activities to enhance service delivery.
- Scrub and/or circulate in General surgeries, demonstrating expertise and ensuring patient safety.
- Develop a core curriculum for the service line in conjunction with the clinical educator and system education teams, overseeing new staff orientation and ongoing education for all team members.
- Manage team member schedules and time cards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and ensure they meet the needs of the service line.
- Act as a role model and resource for staff, embodying the mission and vision of Indiana University Health in all aspects of patient care and unit operations.
Qualifications
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
- Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- 2+ years of OR (Operating Room) or GI procedural experience is strongly preferred.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours, 630a-5p 4 days/week or 6:30a-3p 5/days per week; Monday-Friday. No weekends, holidays or call required.
