Registered Nurse Specialist/Supervisor - SEMORS - Sikeston
About the role
Southeast Missouri Residential Services (SEMORS) is a Missouri Department of Mental Health facility with residential locations in Sikeston and Poplar Bluff. This position will be domiciled at and support our Sikeston facility campus. The regular work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday off. Occasional coverage on other shifts may be necessary at times to meet the needs of the facility, along with infrequent travel to attend offsite meetings and trainings.
Responsibilities
- Supports the nursing services of our campus DBH program.
- Plans and schedules the delivery of nursing services to individuals, focusing on comprehensive, quality care in an inter-disciplinary team approach setting.
- Develops and implements infection control measures and health facility surveying.
- Trains direct support staff, including Level One Med Aide certification and insulin administration delegation.
- Participates in individual habilitation treatment plan meetings and provides necessary nursing assessments for individuals residing on campus in a congregate setting.
- Prepares and conducts various nursing assessments and develops nursing diagnoses.
- Accompanies individuals to medical appointments off-site.
- Communicates professionally and effectively with the Director of Nursing, clinicians, inter-disciplinary team, direct support staff, and external stakeholders to ensure quality care of the individuals supported.
- Administers detailed therapeutic prescriptions and nursing interventions.
- Possesses a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri's Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Knowledge of current nursing theory, practices, and techniques.
- Skills in applying practical nursing principles in the care of persons with physical or mental illness, developmental or intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or the geriatric population.
- At least 2-4 years of experience working as a registered nurse.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position, including frequent standing and walking, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually.
Schedule
