Virginia Mason Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse - Supervisor to lead the daily operations and clinical coordination of both primary care and specialty care services. The ideal candidate will supervise and mentor registered nurses and support staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development. They will ensure optimal patient flow and efficient resource utilization, address patient care or service problems promptly, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, monitor compliance with regulations, manage staffing schedules, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor registered nurses and support staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Ensure optimal patient flow and efficient utilization of resources to meet the demand for services.
  • Address patient care or service problems promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Manage staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage to meet patient needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and improve the efficiency of the center.

Requirements

  • This position requires current licensure as a registered nurse plus one year's increasingly responsible health care operations experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize the demands of daily operations and organize resources required.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, active listening skills, and conflict mediation ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and build effective teams also required.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred.
  • Current RN Supervisory experience and/or Charge RN experience is strongly preferred.
