Registered Nurse Senior - night shift

About the role

The Forensic Mental Health Program provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.

As a Registered Nurse Senior, you will provide experienced, professional nursing care. You will assess and diagnose patient needs, develop individualized nursing plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team, provide direct nursing intervention or delegate specific tasks, and evaluate the effectiveness of care. You will also provide clinical oversight of nursing processes and defined administrative functions alongside the Registered Nurse Administrative Supervisor, and lead in establishing, facilitating, and implementing the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the program.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose the needs of patients.
• Develop individualized nursing plans to meet patient needs in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide direct nursing intervention and/or delegate specific nursing tasks to appropriate staff.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing plan and care provided during the shift.
• Provide clinical oversight of nursing processes and defined administrative functions in conjunction with the Registered Nurse Administrative Supervisor.
• Provide leadership in establishing, facilitating, and implementing the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the program.

Requirements

• Current licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor of Nursing Degree plus two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse; OR Associate's degree or diploma in nursing plus three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification in an area of expertise equals one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

• Applicants will be required to provide a copy of their high school diploma at the time of interview OR copies of their college transcript or college degree/diploma at the time of interview. Copies of the college degree/diploma are acceptable only if it clearly identifies the field in which it was earned.
• Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures, ensuring cultural responsiveness.
• Patient care experience within a mental health or behavioral health setting.

Pay

$42.20 - $62.48 / hourly; $88,113 - $130,458 / annually

Schedule

• Night Shift, 10pm-6am
• Days of work vary, will include every other weekend
