Where You Will Work

Join our growing inpatient float team at Aurora Medical Center Grafton. As part of the float team, you’ll experience the best of every department and utilize your skills where they are needed most. This role supports med/surg units, progressive care, observation, and offers additional cross-training opportunities in ED, ICU, and other specialty areas.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
• One to two years of med/surg nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Your role includes:

• Using evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to ensure the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.
• Leading efforts to enhance patient care across the continuum through compassionate communication and collaboration.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting throughout the workday.
• Must safely lift up to 35 pounds and perform patient handling tasks, including pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds and assisting with 150-pound sliding transfers.
• Requires functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills for clinical procedures and operating equipment foot controls.
• Must respond quickly to changing patient conditions and perform patient safety interventions, including verbal de-escalation and restraints when necessary.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and hazardous waste may occur; appropriate protective equipment must be used.
