RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Telemetry Float Pool Department at the New Brunswick campus. RWJ University Hospital is the primary teaching hospital of the RWJ Barnabas health system and one of just three Level 1 trauma centers in the state. Nurses in our float pool are highly valued, as they provide extraordinary care to patients across all populations, including trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. Float pool nurses demonstrate nursing expertise, flexibility, resilience, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and teamwork. We are increasing the size of our team to continue providing expert nurses to our units.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, adhering to ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice, including awareness of own knowledge and experience, and advance knowledge through communication and resource utilization.
- Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Understand the patient population served and supervise/delegate tasks to appropriate team members.
- Collaborate with other patient care providers and consistently set/evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
- Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize plans to address specific patient needs.
Requirements
- ASN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred or must be completed within 5 years of hire).
- At least 2 years of Medical Surgical experience.
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Schedule
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week.
- Monday – Friday with some weekend and holiday rotation.
Pay
Anticipated hourly wage range: $47.85 - $71.72 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
