System Wide Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)
About the Role
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking experienced RNs to join our System-Wide Float Pool. In this role, RNs have the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad scope of patient care within their specialty area while working assignments at each of the sites throughout our system. The RNs support the team and the patients at each site for an average of three months per assignment. There are opportunities available to float regionally (to the northern or the southern region sites) or to float throughout the entire RWJBH system. Enhanced Float Differentials are offered based on region.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
- Minimal of three (3) years of medical/surgical telemetry experience in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical/surgical telemetry field, just CMSRN preferred.
- Current New Jersey RN licensure required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Excellent communication, leadership and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated ability to be an effective role model to others.
- Flexibility and adaptability is essential in meeting System staffing needs as required.
- Travel required to various hospital-based facilities within RWJBarnabas Health.
- Average site assignment is three (3) months (less or more).
- Assignment length will be based upon facility need.
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
Skills
Essential functions include possessing exemplary critical care skill and knowledge with professionalism, cooperation and accountability, organizing and administering individualized age specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care, supporting philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of RWJBarnabas Health and the Department of Patient Care Services, practicing in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, JCAHO requirements and other regulatory agencies, participating in patient teaching and discharge planning, and participating in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
