Registered Nurse RN - Surgical Ambulatory

About the role

Department: Ambulatory Surgical Services. Hospital: St. Mary of Nazareth. Location: Chicago, IL 60622.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Out Patient Services setting.
• Communicates with physicians, Director of Surgical Services, House Supervisor and co-workers about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Coordinates the care of the patient with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist, directs and guides other personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Out Patient Department.
• Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization.
• Ensures adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
• Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous acute care hospital experience; preferred.
• Moderate Sedation competency completed within 30 days upon hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay

The total rewards package offers a competitive compensation estimate of $35.35 to $53.58 per hour (including wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation). Exact starting compensation will be determined based on skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.

Schedule

Full‑Time, Day 10‑Hour Shift.
