Registered Nurse (RN) Surgery

Full-time, 0.75 FTE (60 hours per pay period)

Schedule

• 6 × 10-hour shifts
• Varied start times
• Rotating weekends and holidays
• Call requirements: one night per week and one weekend per month
• Weekend and holiday rotations established and mapped out annually

Pay

$7,500 sign-on bonus available to qualified applicants

Our high-performing Operating Room (OR) team is a collaborative, fast-paced department. OR nurses work side-by-side with surgical teams to deliver safe, high-quality care, supported by strong communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellent patient outcomes. The OR features 12 procedure rooms and offers 8, 10, and 12-hour shift options based on unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment
• Documents patient care given
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

Requirements

• Current Michigan RN license
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred)
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
