How You'll Contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role, provides direct patient care in the surgical setting using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. Coordinate daily OR schedule and monitor case progression in real time.Adjust staffing assignments based on case volume, acuity, and staff skill mix.Facilitate room turnover efficiency and minimize delays.Communicate with surgeons, anesthesia, PACU, SPD, and leadership regarding schedule changes or issues.Troubleshoot workflow disruptions, equipment needs, or staffing shortages.Prioritize add-on and emergency cases in collaboration with leadership.Monitor on-time starts, turnover times, and overall OR efficiency metrics.Serve as a resource and support for OR staff throughout the shift.Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.Documents patient care provided.Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.Maintains regular and reliable attendance.Performs other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For RN license required Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. Minimum of 2-3 years of OR experience preferred Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique.
