About the Role
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care in Mercy’s Spine & Pain Management clinic. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients, coordinates care in conjunction with other departments, and ensures patient rights and confidentiality. Performs duties in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assess patients, including pain evaluations, vitals, and medical history
- Assist providers with spine and pain management procedures and treatments
- Administer medications and injections; support IV therapy as needed
- Monitor patients and respond to changes in condition
- Coordinate care, including follow-ups, referrals, and patient education
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical standards
- Support a safe, efficient clinic environment and assist with lab/testing as needed
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current valid state RN license
- CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Knowledge of nursing principles, care procedures, medications, patient education, and clinical instruments
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Basic computer skills for accessing information and entering clinical data
- Ability to operate clinic specialty equipment
