About the role

This role provides direct clinical patient care. The Registered Nurse will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and is accountable to support the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
  • Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
  • Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement (QI), and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
  • Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
  • Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
  • Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
  • Responsible for knowing the hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as a Registered Nurse as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
  • AHA BLS certification, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Recent acute care experience.
