Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and direct/guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel in the DOU.
  • Maintain standards of care and accountability for the care of assigned patients.
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, and abnormal symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or treatment response.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Current valid State Registered Nurse License.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current (preferred).
  • Completion of Critical Care Course (preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
