About the Role
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed.
- Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Unrestricted State DL.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Completed approved Illinois SANE training (40 hours of Didactic coursework).
- Complete the initial Pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Education: Completed approved Illinois SANE training (40 hours of Didactic coursework).
- Experience: Completed initial Pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.

Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $36.41 to $55.19 hour.
