Registered Nurse RN- SANE Certified - Emergency Department
Responsibilities
- Provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim.
- Conduct a forensic exam.
- Administer prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
- Document the forensic exam through photography.
- Make appropriate medical and psychological referrals.
- Support and participate in legal proceedings related to sexual assault cases.
- Follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program.
- Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Unrestricted State DL.
- BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Completed approved Illinois SANE training (40 hours of Didactic coursework).
- Complete the initial Pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.
Pay
Competitive compensation with a reasonable estimate for this role being $43.00 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, considering a wide range of factors including skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
