About the role
As a Resource Team Float RN, you will work across all PCU, Med/Surg, and Observation units at Banner University Medical Center. The role includes participation in the Nursing Clinical Ladder Incentive Program and access to a self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.
Schedule
- Part-Time, Nights
- 2×12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Holiday and weekend availability required
- 18% night-shift differential
- $3.00/hour weekend-shift differential (when applicable)
- $3.00/hour float incentive on top of base pay
Pay
Sign-on bonus requires a 1-year commitment.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in alignment with organizational policies and professional standards.
- Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
- Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers.
- Formulate and revise care plans based on patient needs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Implement care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities.
- Promote continuity of care through accurate communication with other caregivers.
- Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; adjust plans as needed.
- Document all aspects of care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in the patient record.
- Provide evidence-based care and participate in research activities within clinical practice.
- Participate in shared leadership, education, orientation, and mentoring of staff, students, and families.
- Contribute to national nursing quality indicators and outcomes through professional activities.
- Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, external agencies, and clergy to support patient care.
- Synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to health changes.
Requirements
- Current, valid RN license in state of practice (temporary/interim or compact licensure accepted).
- BLS certification required.
- Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
- Experience in the clinical area for which you are applying is desired.
- Must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
- Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require at least one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months.
- For Home Health settings, must operate a personal vehicle with a valid driver’s license and active auto insurance.
- For Behavioral Health roles serving children, an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required at hire and must be maintained.
- For Banner Home Care AZ, an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required at hire and must be maintained.
- For BSS Behavioral Health roles in Arizona, a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is required at hire and must be maintained.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Professional certification in specialty area.
