About the Hospital
Paradise Valley Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is the South Bay’s oldest hospital and the second oldest in San Diego County. As the largest employer in National City, we have served the community for over 100 years with a 291-bed acute care facility. Our services include the San Diego Spine & Joint Center, a highly credentialed acute rehabilitation center, a modern cardiac catheterization lab, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical services, 24-hour emergency services, and behavioral health services at both our hospital campus and Bayview campus in Chula Vista. Behavioral health offerings encompass psychiatric continuum of care for adults, inpatient services, and intensive outpatient programs.
Responsibilities
- Treat patients and provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members.
- Run therapeutic groups and perform psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint of patients.
- Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
- Perform and assist with diagnostic tests and analyze results.
- Operate medical machinery and administer treatment and medications.
- Support patient follow-up and rehabilitation.
- Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Understanding of interdisciplinary treatment team processes, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Familiarity with the continuum of care for behavioral health.

Pay
The current compensation range for this role is $48.24 to $66.50 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
