Department: Behavioral Health, Geriatric. Hospital: Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital. Location: 2233 W Division St, Chicago, IL 60622.

Schedule

Full Time, Nights, 7:00 am – 7:30 pm (rotating weekends and holidays).

Pay

$35.35 to $53.58 per hour.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and educate them about mental and medical conditions.
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members.
• Run therapeutic groups.
• Perform psychiatric crisis intervention, seclusion and restraint of patients.
• Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
• Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results.
• Operate medical machinery.
• Administer treatment and medications.
• Assist with patient follow‑up and rehabilitation.
• Teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self‑administration of medication and physical therapy.
• Perform other related duties.

Qualifications

• Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
