Registered Nurse (RN), (PRN)
About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers excellent care to patients as a frontline representative of the Patient Promise: “We are only and always about the patient. We promise to always fight for their greatest good.” The RN provides medical care at the direction of the Health Center provider, meeting the individual needs of each patient.
Responsibilities
- Performs complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures.
- Gathers and assesses objective and subjective patient data and documents findings in the patient record.
- Uses computer systems and information technology to ensure standard documentation, coding, and completion.
- Assists providers in all aspects of consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Executes medical regimens and nursing interventions appropriate to the setting and competency.
- Provides patient health counseling and instruction, including meetings with families and caregivers.
- Performs medication reconciliation, management, compliance monitoring, inventory, and education.
- Operates medical equipment and maintains medical supplies, inventory, and disposal.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA guidelines.
- May include triage of calls for urgent appointments, referrals for patient consults and testing, insurance pre-certification, and documentation.
- Uses general office skills including keyboarding, office computer software, filing, answering telephones, email, and faxing.
- Delivers excellent customer service to patients, families, and caregivers.
Requirements
- RN with a current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days after start date.
- 1+ year of clinic nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state and federal requirements.
- Ability to interpret and implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of Proactive MD.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This job operates in a medical office environment and requires interaction with patients for the majority of the workday. Physical demands include effective communication, mobility, ability to operate office equipment, and intermittent travel throughout the day. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at the work area for prolonged periods. Occasionally required to lift office products and supplies up to 20–30 pounds.
