About the Role

This position involves assisting in the setup and breakdown of flu vaccine events, as well as administering vaccines.

Location: 250 Vesey St, Floor 18, New York, New York, 10281

Event Dates: September 29 – October 1, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, provide coverage at least once per month, including scheduled PTO dates: September 9–11, 14–17, and 22–25.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides excellent care to our patients, acting as a frontline representative of our Patient Promise: “We are only and always about the patient. We promise to always fight for their greatest good.” The RN provides medical care at the direction of the provider of the Health Center based on the needs of the patient and works to meet the individual needs of each person that walks in the doors of the Health Center.

Responsibilities

• Provides complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures.
• Gathers and assesses objective and subjective data from the patient.
• Documents data and assessments in the patient record. May use a computer system and information technology to ensure standard documentation, coding, and completion.
• Assists the providers in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Executes medical regimens and nursing interventions as appropriate for the setting and their competency.
• Provides patient health counseling and instruction, including meeting with families and caregivers.
• Handles medication reconciliation, management, patient compliance, inventory, and education.
• Operates medical equipment.
• Maintains medical supplies, inventory, and disposal.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA guidelines.
• May include triage of calls for urgent appointments, referrals for patient consults and testing, insurance pre-certification, and documentation.
• May use general office skills including keyboarding, office computer software, filing, answering telephones, email, faxing, and copying.
• Provides excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

• RN with a current nursing license in state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association, valid for at least 90 days after start date.
• 1+ year of clinic nursing experience preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state and federal requirements.
• Must be able to interpret and implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of Proactive MD.
