Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Proactive MD provides excellent care to patients, adhering to the Patient Promise: "We are only and always about the patient. We promise to always fight for their greatest good." The RN performs various duties under the guidance of the provider, including patient assessment, consultations, treatments, and follow-up care.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provides complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures.
  • Gathers and assesses objective and subjective data from the patient and documents in the patient record.
  • Assists providers in consultations, treatments, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Executes medical regimens and nursing interventions as appropriate for the setting and their competency.
  • Patient health counseling and instruction, including meetings with families and caregivers.
  • Maintains medication reconciliation, management, patient compliance, inventory, and education.
  • Operates medical equipment and ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Triage calls for urgent appointments, referrals, and documentation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • RN with a current nursing license in state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days after start date
  • 1+ year of clinic nursing experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal requirements
  • Able to interpret and implement Proactive MD's programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily operates in a medical office environment
  • Required to interact with patients for the majority of the workday
  • Effective communication, mobility, ability to operate office equipment, and travel intermittently throughout the day
  • Must remain in a stationary position at their work area for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasionally lifts office products and supplies up to 20-30 pounds

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

  • This role is considered a PRN (as needed), non-exempt position
  • Evening and weekend work may be required depending on the schedule of the individual health and wellness center
