Avera is currently seeking nurses to deliver patient-focused care in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Position Highlights
- Student Loan Repayment: Eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, providing an extra $167 monthly payment (up to $10,000) to help pay down principal faster.

Schedule
- 72 hours per pay period
- 1 weekend of call every 8 weeks
- 1 night of call per week
- Primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays
Pay
$31.00 - $46.25 per hour, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions.
- Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to help them understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Review physician prescriptions and communicate the nursing care plan to the healthcare team.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and confer with physicians regarding patient care.
- Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, and establishing care objectives and interventions.
- Teach patients, families, and friends about healthcare requirements, including condition management, medications, and self-care skills.
- Evaluate patient care by measuring outcomes against standards, reviewing records, and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Maintain a safe and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication procedures, and legal regulations.
- Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
- Maintain and troubleshoot patient care equipment, ensuring supplies are stocked and orders are expedited.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (upon hire).
- Ability to work specified hours, including visual acuity and effective communication skills.
- Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
