Avera is currently seeking nurses to deliver patient-focused care in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Position Highlights

  • Student Loan Repayment: Eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, providing an extra $167 monthly payment (up to $10,000) to help pay down principal faster.

Schedule

  • 72 hours per pay period
  • 1 weekend of call every 8 weeks
  • 1 night of call per week
  • Primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays

Pay

$31.00 - $46.25 per hour, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions.
  • Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to help them understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Review physician prescriptions and communicate the nursing care plan to the healthcare team.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and confer with physicians regarding patient care.
  • Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, and establishing care objectives and interventions.
  • Teach patients, families, and friends about healthcare requirements, including condition management, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Evaluate patient care by measuring outcomes against standards, reviewing records, and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot patient care equipment, ensuring supplies are stocked and orders are expedited.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (upon hire).
  • Ability to work specified hours, including visual acuity and effective communication skills.
  • Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Experience working in a clinical environment.
