Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

About the Role

Responsible for providing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other standards established by professional groups and regulating bodies. Nursing care is delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care.

Responsibilities include the provision and coordination of nursing care, including the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team members. The role involves identifying interventions to attain expected outcomes, implementing the plan of care, evaluating patient progress, and documenting the process. Care is tailored to the age-specific and unique needs of the patient and family.

Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the healthcare team, collaborates with team members to meet patient and family needs throughout the episode of care, and delegates tasks and activities as appropriate under the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient assessment data.
• Identify expected outcomes and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Implement interventions identified in the plan of care.
• Evaluate the progress of the patient and family toward attainment of outcomes.
• Document the care process thoroughly.
• Provide care sensitive to age-specific and unique patient/family needs.
• Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet patient and family needs.
• Delegate tasks and activities as governed by the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

• Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Schedule

0.90 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) position, primarily Monday through Friday with some weekends and holidays required. Call duty is also required. Day shift.
