Registered Nurse (RN) (Pool/PRN)

Responsibilities
- Assess individuals (youth and adult) and document pertinent information including Triage, Behavioral Health, Physical Health, and/or Substance Abuse issues
- Demonstrate knowledge of Crisis Intervention and the ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations
- Provide education to individuals and their families regarding Behavioral Health diagnosis, medications, and treatments
- Complete detailed Nursing Assessments with individuals and document pertinent information including Triage, Medical/Behavioral Health assessments and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools
- Accurately record all medication brought in by individual on medication reconciliation/storage form
- Plan individual treatment as part of the Multidisciplinary Clinical team
- Provide education concerning psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual's care
- Intervene with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors
- Demonstrate ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Seclusion/Restraint standards, guidelines, techniques; initiate documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required
- Provide daily programming/groups
- Complete all required training, attend monthly meetings, and maintain required competencies
- Complete nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility
- Accurately transcribe Provider orders and administer medications as prescribed
- Attempt to have individual sign medication consent form
- Perform chart checks and sign off as a second noted on medications prescribed
- Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by Providers when required
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing program
- Unrestricted active license as Registered Professional Nurse through the Virginia State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege
- Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques
- Working on ASAM 3.7 unit, the RN shall have competencies and experience in conducting an alcohol or other drug focused nursing assessment
- The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company's exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
- State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance
- Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check
- Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search
Physical Requirements
- Safely perform physical interventions (e.g., standing, pivoting, reaching, kneeling, lowering to the floor, and supporting another person's weight)
- Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Tolerate prolonged walking, standing, and observation in a fast-paced environment
- Work with individuals who may exhibit agitation, aggression, or unpredictable behavior
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience
- Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience
- Experience working with individuals with addiction and addiction management
- Bachelor's degree in nursing

Pay
Earn More with Shift Differentials:
- +$2/hr — Monday-Thursday Nights
- +$6/hr — Friday-Sunday Nights
- +$2/hr — Saturday-Sunday Days
Virginia pay range $64.73 - $71.33 USD
