Registered Nurse, RN, Float Pool, PRN

About the Role

FirstChoice is Trinity Health's mobile staffing solution, offering premium compensation and maximum flexibility for experienced Registered Nurses. As a FirstChoice RN, you will fill short and long-term assignments throughout the health system, floating between Loyola University Medical Center, MacNeal Hospital, and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.

You must work a minimum of 36 hours per 6-week schedule and float to various units within your specialty area (Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Med-Surg).

Responsibilities

• Float throughout the hospital and/or multiple hospital locations/regions as needed.
• Demonstrate standard elements of professional practice: assess, identify outcomes/solutions, plan, implement, and evaluate.
• Act independently within your license, scope of knowledge, and experience in your practice area.
• Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
• Exhibit agility and willingness to take on new and additional responsibilities.
• Embrace new ideas and cultural differences while managing competing priorities.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice/employment.
• Minimum two (2) years of recent clinical experience in specialties including Critical Care, Surgical Services, Maternal Services, Emergency Department, or Behavioral Health.
• Maintain credentials required per specialty (e.g., ACLS, TNCC).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be obtained through the American Heart Association.

Pay

Pay range: $53–$58 per hour for local assignments. Actual compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification, and comparisons to current colleagues in similar roles.
