Registered Nurse, RN, Float Pool, PRN
About the Role
FirstChoice is Trinity Health's mobile staffing solution for experienced Registered Nurses seeking premium compensation and maximum flexibility. As a FirstChoice RN, you will fill short and long-term assignments throughout the health system, floating between Loyola University Medical Center, MacNeal Hospital, and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.
You must work a minimum of 36 hours per 6-week schedule and float to various units within your specialty area.
Responsibilities
- Float throughout the hospital and/or multiple hospital locations and/or regions as needed.
- Demonstrate standard elements of professional practice: Assess, Outcomes Identification/Solutions, Plan, Implement, Evaluate.
- Act independently within your license, scope of knowledge, and experience in your practice area.
- Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
- Exhibit agility and willingness to take on new and additional responsibilities.
- Embrace new ideas and cultural differences while managing competing priorities.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice/employment.
- Minimum two (2) years of recent clinical experience in specialties including Critical Care, Surgical Services, Maternal Services, Emergency Department, and Behavioral Health.
- Maintain credentials required per specialty area (e.g., ACLS, TNCC, etc.).
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be obtained through the American Heart Association.

Pay
Pay range: $48–53 per hour for local assignments. Actual compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification, and comparisons to current colleagues in similar roles.
Schedule
Rotating shift with a minimum requirement of 36 hours per 6-week schedule.
