About the role
This position is 40 hours per week. Working at our High Point and both Greensboro locations within a work week is required. The hours are 8:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation.
- Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
- Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Implements the identified plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthce workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles.
- Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
- Communicates effectively in all areas of practice.
- Collaborates with healthcare consumer and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
- Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Sets knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking.
- Integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
- Contributes to quality nursing practice.
- Evaluates one's own and other's nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations.
- Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
- Promotes shared governance, or facility decision making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
- License: Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services.
- Experience: Typically requires 2 years of experience in clinical nursing.
- Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking; time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.); clinical, aviation, maintenance, communications, and administrative departments.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday; must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies; must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present; have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions; maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines; perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed; may be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease; therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary; must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
